The App We Don’t Have

The App We Don’t Have

Every now and then (read – we’re all getting tired of the spam) we get e-mails from people who want to develop apps for us. Apps are great, as long as we are comfortable alienating anyone who uses Blackberry, Windows 8 or any other operating platform that isn’t iOS or Android. They’re also great as long as we keep spending money to update them, and let’s face it, a real estate app is only as good as the maps it feeds from, and around Nannup, most mapping applications are pretty inaccurate. The other thing with apps is that they can have security weaknesses which can be exploited and they often want permissions which can potentially impinge on the privacy of users.

We don’t want to ignore users with mobile devices, though, so instead of developing a bunch of apps, we’ve invested in a website which has been designed to be adaptive to your mobile device. What does all that technobabble mean? It means that as long as you’ve got a web browser – any web browser – on any device, you get a version of our website which is optimised for whatever you’re using. What’s more, we’ve now invested in an upgraded website which will use bleeding edge technology to be even more adaptive to the needs of mobile users. We’re currently scheduled to go live in mid-January, which is quite exciting.

So that’s why we don’t have an app – we’ve got a clever website that makes apps obsolete. All you need is to save our address in your browser – http://nannuprealestate.com.au – and you’re away!
